Financial Leadership for Owner-Operated Businesses That Have Outgrown Guesswork

Ongoing reporting, forecasting, cash visibility, and finance leadership for North Carolina businesses

Takes about three minutes. If your answers suggest a fit, we’ll email you a private link to book the next step.

This may be for you if

✓   Revenue looks healthy, but cash still surprises you.

✓   You cannot say with confidence which jobs or projects make money.

✓   Month-end numbers arrive late, or you do not trust them when they do.

✓   You are still the bookkeeper, controller, CFO, and collections manager.

✓   Most financial decisions live in your head, and nowhere else.

What it costs to stay here

When the numbers run behind the business, decisions get made on instinct and last quarter's reports.

Growth can consume cash faster than it creates it, and you find out when the account is low, not before.

And every financial question still ends up on your desk, which is time you are not spending running the company.

How Harbor Creek helps

We start with a diagnosis, not a proposal. Before we recommend any ongoing service, we look at your books, your cash, and the economics of your work.

Then we run your finance function on a fixed rhythm. Scheduled meetings, a monthly reporting pack, and a rolling cash forecast, so you see problems early and decide with current numbers.

After the diagnostic, we recommend the level of support that matches your business - with these two options.

Financial Advisory

Best for owners who need clearer numbers and stronger financial decisions.

✓   Two meetings per month

✓   Monthly reporting pack

✓   Biweekly cash forecast

✓   Owner dashboard

Outsourced Finance Department

Best for owners who want Harbor Creek to run the finance function.

✓   Bookkeeping

✓   Bill pay and invoicing

✓   Month-end close

✓   Job costing

✓   Weekly cash management

✓   Plus everything in Financial Advisory

You get our full attention. CFO judgment sits apart from day-to-day accounting work.

With your team

We work alongside your staff, not around them, and build on what works for your business needs

Who this is for, and who it is not

A good fit

✓   Owner-operated business based in North Carolina

✓   $2 million or more in annual revenue

✓   Project- or job-based work, or work where profit by job matters

✓   An owner who wants analysis and decisions, not only completed books

Probably not a fit

✕   You mainly need personal tax preparation

✕   You need a one-time filing or task, not ongoing support

Below $2 million? You can still complete the form. A partner reviews every answer.

Need tax or bookkeeping instead? See our Tax and Accounting page.

Questions

How long does it take?

The Financial Diagnostic and Roadmap finishes with written findings and a live presentation within 30 days. Ongoing service runs on a 12-month agreement.

What does it cost to get started?

The consultation is $300 for 60 minutes with our managing partner, paid when you book. If you continue to the Financial Diagnostic and Roadmap, its fee is credited in full toward onboarding.

Where do you work, and how do we meet?

We work with businesses based in North Carolina. Most meetings are virtual. We are glad to meet in person at our Wilmington office.

Do I need to use specific accounting software?

No. We work with the system you use today, and the diagnosis maps how it fits together.

What if my books are behind?

That is common. The diagnosis tells you where they stand. Any cleanup is scoped and agreed separately before work begins.

What exactly is included?

Everything listed in your signed scope. Anything outside it is agreed in writing before we start, so there are no surprise charges.

Do you also handle taxes?

Yes, through our tax division. See our Tax and Accounting page.
